California Youth Connection
California Youth Connection (CYC) is a statewide organization led by current and former foster youth between the ages of 14-24. Orangewood Children’s Foundation is Orange County’s CYC Chapter. CYC members participate in policy development and legislative change to improve the foster care system.

CYC members:
  • Attend chapter meetings twice each month at Orangewood Children’s Foundation to work on local policy issues
  • Attend the annual, weekend “Day at the Capitol” conference to educate legislators about foster youth issues
  • Attend one annual, weekend statewide conferences to discuss policy changes and develop leadership skills
  • Develop presentations to educate the public and policy makers about their experiences with the foster care system and make recommendations about how it can be improved
  • Promote a positive image of foster youth
