Independent Living Coaches
The Independent Living Coaches (ILC) provide foster youth with a long-term mentor and coach. ILCs provide one-on-one guidance and support services to foster youth beginning at age 16, through emancipation and up to age 21.

ILC services include basic skills training, educational advocacy, emancipation preparation and hands-on life skills experience, caregiver education and outreach.

ILC participants will:
  • Meet with their ILC for a minimum of four hours each month
  • Receive assistance with emancipation planning services and hands-on life skills instruction
  • Receive honest feedback and encouragement on their progress in life skills development
  • Receive referrals to other OCF programs and community resources as needed
